1. Water, Water, Water
My no. 1 rule is to keep your body hydrated and clean by flushing all the toxins out on a daily basis. As easy this may be, many people tend to reach for a glass of water when they are thirsty, which is too late, as this is the sign that the body is already dehydrated. I do avoid this stage, by simply taking a bottle of water everywhere with me and I recommend you to do the same.
Tip: Drink a big glass of water the first thing in a morning.
2. The portion size
Do you know your portion size? Overeating is the most common mistake we all make, especially when the food is so yummy. To avoid a weight gain is recommended to stop eating when you are about 80% full or when you start feeling the pressure in your stomach.
3. Intermittent Fasting
Not only your brain and muscles need the rest, but also your digestive system requires some time to recover while you sleep. Make sure to do not go to the bed fully stuffed, and also to make at least a 12-hour window between the last and the first meal. In this way, your body has time to induces important cellular repair processes, such as removing waste material from cells. During fasting, the blood levels of insulin drops significantly promoting healthy sugar levels and weight loss.
Tip: Try one day a week to extend the non-eating window to 15-16 hours.
Green tea, blueberries, goji berries, dark chocolate, cinnamon, turmeric, pecans, and so much more our nature offers to support our overall health and weight loss. Antioxidant sources like herbs, spices, and teas, reduce the effects of free radicals, which plays a major role in disease formation. Just pick some and add them into your diet to prevent aging, illness, and reduce inflammation!
Tip: Try my "Keto Power Balls" packed with the dark chocolate and avocado.
5. Take it easy
It is important also HOW we eat, not only WHAT we eat, therefore you should make sure to fully enjoy your meals: do not rush, sit down while you eat, leave other tasks aside and chew, chew, chew before you swallow! You will make it much easier for your digestive system to process all that food.
Tip: Enjoy a nice dinner with your partner, have a break for some chat or glass of wine while you eat! 😄
